Mackenna's 18 months old

Exactly one week ago, Mackenna turned 18 months old. I can't believe how fast she's growing up and becoming a little girl. Here are 18 fun facts about my little Mackenna:

1. From the time she was born, up until now, she has always been in the 90th percentile for weight.
2. She loves to play at the park, the slides are her favorite.
3. She's such a daddy's girl, but lately she's become very clingy to me and I really like it.
4. She loves Signing Time and Little Einsteins and calls them her "shows."
5. She is saying sentences now. Some examples, "mommy show please?" and "Daddy bye-bye work."
6. She loves her Kindermusik and My Gym classes and her teachers.
7. When you ask her if she's a baby or a big girl, she says, "big girl Kenna."
8. Most of her friends are boys, but daddy says that's only o.k. for a couple more years.
9. She's starting dance classes in a couple weeks, yeah!
10. She loves dogs and fish.
11. She can be very loud.
12. She has started running away from me, especially in parking lots, so we also started "time outs."
13. She is very good at entertaining herself and others.
14. She is very close with both of her grandmas and cries very hard when either of them have to leave.
15. I know this is my fault, but she is borderline obsessed with Jamba Juice. She calls it her "juicy."
16. She loves to feed and rock her baby dolls.
17. She is still a great sleeper/napper, which is a good thing because when she is awake, she is AWAKE!
18. She is the biggest blessing that we have ever had and I can't imagine my life without her. She brings so much joy and happiness into our home and I'm so thankful for the past 18 months with my beautiful little girl.

Jan-Feb photo catch-up

Since January and February were devoted to Steven's birthday and Valentine's, I realized I left out a few of the other fun things we did along the way. The first was my "cousin" Lauren's wedding in Santa Barbara (first picture). We drove up with my sister and Weston and had a great time seeing family that we haven't seen in a long time and the wedding was absolutely gorgeous!! BYU roomie reunion!! My sister and Hailey, Heleena, Amelia and "Peanut," and me and Mackenna:
At My Gym the other day, they brought out this train that was so much fun! It kept Mackenna entertained forever, although getting her to get off and share with the other kids was not so easy:
On Valentine's day, we started off by going to the Mom's Club party. Mackenna and one of her favorite friends, Maive, had a great time:Steven came home later in the day with a bunch of gifts for me and Mackenna, her favorite was the little bubble blower and my favorite was the dozen pink roses:
Since it's been so cold and rainy out, I've had to get creative with crafts to keep Mackenna busy during the day (since we usually spend a couple hours at the park), so last Monday we made homemade playdough. It was so easy and fun!!
Last but not least, I had to put this picture up. We had our friends, the Andersons and the Evans,' over for dinner and Mackenna was so spoiled being on her first date with the two cutest boys:

Happy Valentine's Day??

Love, Mackenna

(as you can see in the picture below, I wasn't quite sure if our Valentine's photo shoot was going to be very "happy," but after we got this first pose out of the way, things got much better).

Steven's Birthday 2009

Steven turned 28 a couple weeks ago and since his birthday fell on a Saturday, we were able to celebrate all weekend long! The festivities started out with a family dinner at our house (I decided to make everything this year. It sure was a lot of work, but gave me a new appreciation for caterers and family members who offered to bring things)!

Steven getting ready to blow out the candles:
Mackenna and Hailey pretty much ate all of the cupcakes themselves:Mackenna and Dad opening presents:
The gifts:
The next day, Steven's brother, Jason and his wife Chrissi came with us to Ruth's Chris for dinner. The best part was that I had made plans for Steve's best friend, Brad and his wife Kirstie to come up from San Diego and surprise him at dinner. He was so shocked that I actually kept a secret from him and we all had the best time at dinner. Afterwards, we all went to our favorite bowling place in Anaheim and had a blast.
The boys (not fair that Brad took a bowling class in college)!!!
The girls:
Remember in a previous post where I said I'm a really good bowler?? Well, I guess it was beginner's luck because I did beyond bad this time!
For some reason, these drunk ladies that were bowling next to us, decided that they were our best friends. This one in the middle of Chrissi and Kirstie kept confiding all of her life's problems to us and then when she found out Brad and Kirstie had only been married 3 weeks, she called them "3 weeks" the rest of the night. It was pretty hilarious!! Oh, and by the way, that was ONLY her 6th Mai Tai of the night!!
