We had a nice, relaxing Father's Day this year which started off with going to church:

Giving Daddy his presents (subscription to Netflix, Glenn Beck book, a homemade "shirt and tie" card, candy, and his favorite breakfast):

...and the most exciting thing about Father's Day weekend was the purchase of our first ever family pet(s): 3 goldfish! Mackenna's friends Samantha and Audree came over right when we got the goldfish and were so excited. Unforunately, within 2 hours, all 3 fish had died which was a bit devestating, so the next day we went out and got a more sturdy Beta fighting fish who we have now kept alive for over a month, yeah! Oh, and his name is Shamu (Mackenna has a slight obsession with Sea World):

We spent the Fourth of July running around to a couple different friend's houses for barbeques and swimming and ended up back at our house to meet up with my sis. and her family for the big "6th Annual Steven Paul Firework Extravaganza!" Of course, Mackenna and Hailey have matching outfits and Nana even gave them matching hairdos, which only lasted a few minutes so I had to get a picture:

Mackenna turned 23 months on July 15th and, as you can see in the following photos, I am having way too much fun playing dress-up with her and doing her hair:

excuse the facial expression:

She looks like such a big girl to me in this picture:

She is definitely an independent child and all of her teachers describe her as "having a mind of her own," which is cute right now, but makes me a little nervous for when she's a little older. The biggest accomplishment this past month was potty training. She is
100% potty trained now, including naps, night-time, etc. and it
ONLY TOOK 3 DAYS! I did the 3-day potty training method right after she turned 22 months and it worked like a charm. (
